Wear Something Selfless

People often say that you are what you wear. When you choose your outfit in the morning, you are putting together a non-verbal message to send to everyone encountered during the day. There is an organization that has taken this concept to heart, creating shirts to spread messages that often go under the radar. Selfless Tee, a winner of the Pepsi Refresh Project, is an organization that partners with nonprofits and designs cause-inspired apparel. Selfless Tee creates time-sensitive campaigns to feature t-shirts, employing social media as the main platform for promotion.

CURE will be one of Selfless Tee’s featured campaigns, with a t-shirt designed to humanize the stories of the children around the globe. With a video explaining the mission behind CURE and attainable goals of “likes” and “tweets” to get the word out, the website will engage visitors with who CURE is and what CURE hopes to accomplish throughout the campaign.

From November 1-14, visit www.cure.org/selflesstee to purchase one of the shirts, with $10 of every shirt bought going directly to CURE’s outreach. Additionally, by spreading the message through Facebook, Twitter, or Google+, your name will be enter a drawing for a free shirt.

This organization makes it possible for CURE to do something selfless: to wear something that shows the people we encounter a tiny glimpse of CURE’s mission. And it goes beyond just wearing a shirt; it will financially enable some child, somewhere, to experience the ultimate gift of healing.
