About Jacqueline
I’m sure I’m not the only one who has a weakness for dimples, and Jacqueline has some of the most unique dimples I’ve ever seen. But as your eyes see her sweet dimples press in, you look down to see her legs bend out. A strange contrast to be sure.
Jacqueline’s family first noticed some bowing in her legs when she was just two years old. Now at 8, her disability has become more severe as the degree of the bending in her legs has become more severe. The energy she should be using in her third grade class is partially spent just trying to walk to get there. But this youngest of 4 doesn’t complain. Her mom says she’s the most talkative of the family despite her initially shy demeanor. Jacqueline told me how much she loves math and that when she grows up, she wants to be a banker. She’s the first aspiring banker I’ve met. I also asked her where she’d like to visit if she had the chance. Her answer: Nairobi, so she can tour around. Maybe she’ll just become a banker in Nairobi, and that way both of her dreams will come true.
Right now, Jacqueline’s bowed legs impose a limit. But soon, they won’t have that power anymore. I’m so thankful we have the chance to break that chain and get her walking taller and running faster in the direction she’s always wanted to go.

JSON RSS- Day 233 Jacqueline's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 05/31/2012 - Good News!! In my attempt to track her down, I got to her file and realized she actually showed at the clinic and was seen by our Dr. Chege. The notes on her file show that her leg is now well aligned, but with slight residual bowing. She was put under observation for three months, so we will see her again towards the end of May.
Tuesday February 14, 2012 - Day 232 Well, for some reason Jacqueline didn't show up again, but we're not giving up on her that easy...we're going to try our best to track her down, and when I know something, you'll know something :) Thanks for hangin' in there and please be praying!
Monday February 13, 2012 - Day 173 Jacqueline's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 02/09/2012 - Unfortunately, she was a no show during the mobile clinic yesterday :( The next mobile clinic in Embu will be in February, so hopefully, Jacqueline will show up then.
Friday December 16, 2011 - Day 110 Jacqueline's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 12/15/2011 - The steel rods were finally removed from Jacqueline's leg and then she was recasted again. We are hoping to see her again during our mobile clinic in Embu:)
