About Shadrack
I’ve always loved the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the book of Daniel. And although this Shadrack spells his name differently, he’s still facing a fire, and I have no doubt that God will bring him out of it safely.
Shadrack was the last boy of 3 born to his mother, Joan. As a peasant farmer, Joan works her hardest to support them, but that’s proven to be anything but easy since her husband left. And his reason for rejecting Joan and their boys? Shadrack’s cleft lip. But in light of her husband’s abandonment, Joan said, “I accepted God’s will, and now I’m so happy that my boy will have a new look.”
They had to travel about 2 hours to get to the clinic, but I’m so glad that the distance didn’t discourage them. And since the ENT team is in town, they were scheduled for surgery earlier than expected! Let’s help Shadrack get the smile he’s always had, but never been able to show.

Wednesday May 9, 2012 - Day 255 Shadrack's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 05/09/2012 - Again he was a no show:( but good news is, he finally went through heart surgery late last year, and has been recovering well.As for our clinic, I still pray that he will show during the next one.
Monday March 19, 2012 - Day 199 Shadrack's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 03/14/2012 - Well now little Shadrack is 2 for 2 on missed appointments, but we're not giving up on him! Please keep praying for him and Joan and just trusting that God's taking care of them. Our next clinic in their area is in March, and I'm really hoping to finally see them again!
Monday January 23, 2012 - Day 129 Shadrack's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 01/18/2012 - No sign of Shadrack during the Kitale mobile clinic. Hoping to see him in January next year, especially to find out about his heart. For now i believe he still needs our prayers.
Monday November 14, 2011 - Day 76 Shadrack's follow up appointment has been scheduled for 11/09/2011 - So Shadrack and Joan did indeed show up for their follow up last week and everything is looking great! As for his heart, rumor is that he's supposed to be getting surgery sometime next month at one of the big private hospitals in Nairobi! Prayers would definitely be appreciated, and I'll let you know if I find out anything else :)

Saturday July 16, 2011 - Day 5 Back to bad news: Shadrack's surgery was cancelled because the surgeon still didn't feel comfortable about his heart status. But trust me when I say that God has been showing off this morning, and He's providing a way through these challenges...He's not done with Shadrack and neither are we.
Wednesday July 13, 2011 - Day 4 Ok, so good news is, Shadrack has been cleared for surgery tomorrow! Bad news is, he has a hole in his heart. The cardiologist is trying to work out a way to help, but in the meantime please keep the prayers coming!
