Reaching More of Zimbabwe’s Children
Children with disabilities, and their families, represent one of the most chronically vulnerable and marginalised populations in Zimbabwe. We estimate that around 300,000 Zimbabwean children suffer from treatable disabilities.
When CURE Zimbabwe opened in May 2021, it became the first and only hospital in the country of 14 million people dedicated to serving these vulnerable children and their families by providing orthopaedic, plastic, reconstructive, and rehabilitative care at no cost to them. In addition to surgical care, CURE Zimbabwe ministers to the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their communities by sharing the truth of God’s love. Now, CURE Zimbabwe is expanding their services to help more children.
OPERATION ZIM is a strategic plan by CURE UK to support CURE Zimbabwe by funding 400 surgeries for children in need of specialised care over the next three years (FY24-FY26: 1 July 2023 – 30 June 2026). CURE UK has been a key partner for CURE Zimbabwe since their inception. We and our donors have helped build, equip, and open the hospital. Now, we plan to use this support to fund life-changing paediatric surgeries there.

OPERATION ZIM’s main goal is to provide surgery sponsorship for 400 children receiving treatment at CURE Zimbabwe.
Support CURE Zimbabwe to build capacity
A secondary goal is to support projects and activities to build the hospital’s capacity and general healthcare services in Zimbabwe.
Build a strong CURE UK
By strengthening our strategic focus, we hope to create opportunities for all our supporters to partner with CURE and bring the gospel message and life-changing surgery into the lives of more children in Zimbabwe.
